Cats Available for Adoption

Thank you for choosing to adopt a pet. If you are interested in adopting a kitten or cat listed on this website please contact us or visit our shelter to meet the pets "in person."

Prepare to be loved. And ignored.

Flock of Felines
McCook Humane Society Guest This Flock of Felines has landed and is ready for adoption! They're another litter of adorable kittens that have been brought in because the folks have too many cats and kittens. This litter was born on July 23rd, they're all gray tabbies and are all very used to being handled since we've had them since they were only a few weeks old. There are five boys and one girl. Meet Raven, Talon, Falcon, Sparrow, Hawk and Eagle!

Blaze and Leaf
McCook Humane Society Guest Blaze and Leaf are two male orange tabbies from a litter of six that were born on June 25th and were brought to us because the previous owner just has too many to keep. There is also another male orange tabby (with white) and that would be Cypress. There is one calico, her name is Aspen. There's a black male named Willow and a female black tabby named Ash. These are all very social and sweet kittens ready for their new homes.

McCook Humane Society Guest Link came in as a stray and wasn't claimed, he's right at four months old and is an adorable gray tabby with white markings. He's really friendly and he just loves all the attention we give him. He's got a little "crook" in his tail, that gives him character and makes us think he might have some Siamese in his family tree.

Kitty Little
McCook Humane Society Guest Kitty Little is one of many cats that came to us because her previous owner had too many cats and was trying to downsize. She's very friendly, and gets along great with other cats. She's fine with humans of all ages, and loves attention. This black and white beauty is right at two years old and would love to come home for the holidays with your family!

The Outlaws
McCook Humane Society Guest We've even got the Outlaws here! Meet Brandy, JW, JD and Whiskey! They're another litter of kittens we've received that's now ready for adoption. There's one female and three males, This litter was born on Sept. 25th and is also very used to being handled, very friendly and playful.

McCook Humane Society Guest Dreamer is an extremely handsome two year old flame point Siamese mix who comes to us because her owners could no longer care for him. He's great with people and dogs, but doesn't care too much for other cats.

McCook Humane Society Guest Jenny is an extremely sweet and very friendly soft gray tabby short haired cat who comes to us because a family member in her previous family's allergies got so bad she had to be re-homed. She's a little under two years old. This wonderful gal gets along with kids, adults, other cats and even likes dogs! She's the perfect feline family addition to any home.

Puddy Tat
McCook Humane Society Guest Puddy Tat is a very friendly black and white short haired cat that showed up on a family's porch and decided that was home. They tried to find his owner but couldn't, so they brought him in to us, and we had the same luck. His owner never came and claimed him, so this young adult sweetheart is now available for adoption. He's one of those fellas that would fit in wonderfully with any family and any home.

Kitty Poppins
McCook Humane Society Guest Kitty Poppins was brought in when she made herself at home with a couple traveling through town that happened to stay in one of our local inns. They checked in, and almost checked out with a new furry family member! This beautiful adult medium haired Torbie was not claimed by an owner and is now available for adoption. She is a very friendly cat and it's hard to believe that she wasn't someone's baby.

Miss Quiggles
McCook Humane Society Guest Miss Quiggles arrived as a stray and is now available for adoption. This beautiful gray tabby has pretty white markings and a beautiful and very cat-like personality to match. She will let you know when she wants attention, and then you'd be best suited to go right ahead and give her some quick lovings, or you will be told about it! She's very much a character and we love her. We don't know anything about her past, so we don't know how she does with other cats, with dogs or anything else, we just know she cracks us up.

Website photos and pets' availability are updated weekly.  "Adopt a Pet" on KICX radio, 96.1 FM, airs each day between 7:30 and 8 am with the latest information on our adoptable pets or give us a call at the Shelter.
